Biografhy

Artists who create drawings and paintings that appear so lifelike using only pencils and brushes on a two-dimensional surface have always fascinated Lars Emmanuel, and he has always wanted to draw in that way himself. This is way he trained in the hyperrealistic genre.

From 2022, he studies under the English artist Kelvin Okafor, and later under the German artist Dirk Dzimirsky, one of the most highly regarded contemporary artists in the field. He participated in his first international exhibition at the Holy Art Gallery in London.

In 2023, he recived a commission from Steinkjer Pride. The assignment was to create portraits of Norwegian queer icons, which were exhibited during the Pride celebration in Steinkaret, Steinkjer Cultural Center, in 2024.

In 2025, he was accepted as a member of the Norwegian Drawing Association and the Norwegian Association of Visual Artists.

In 2026, he returned with his next major solo exhibition, “Can You See?”, at Telegrafen, Steinkjer Cultural Center. He also founded REFRACT together with Hylja Dragsta Häninger.
