Continuing the Journey

After studying with Kelvin Okafor, I wanted to deepen my understanding of hyperrealism even further.
On 11 July 2023, I began studying with the German artist Dirk Dzimirsky, one of the most influential contemporary artists working in hyperrealistic drawing. His work has inspired countless artists around the world, and his approach to observation, subtle values, and emotional expression has had a profound impact on the field.
Studying with Dirk challenged me to look beyond technical accuracy and to think more deeply about atmosphere, form, and the emotional presence within a portrait. Many of the principles I continue to use today were shaped during this period.
